The discharge pipe of a toilet bowl is connected with a waste pipe by an at least partially conical polyethylene sleeve enclosing the discharge pipe with its wide end and having its narrow end inserted in the waste pipe: As shown in Fig. 1, the sleeve 3 is conical and is provided with a peripheral flange 4 having a depending edge 5, the flange being supported by the floor 6 through which the waste pipe 7 passes and being engaged by a flange 2 on the central discharge pipe 1 of a number of toilet bowls. The top end of the sleeve may be provided with an inwardly directed flange. In Fig. 4, the sleeve comprises two cylindrical sections integral with an intermediate conical section 12 and is provided with an inwardly directed flange 13 which engages a lateral discharge pipe 9 of a toilet bowl, and with an outwardly directed flange 14 which impinges against the inner surface of the discharge pipe 7. A resilient skirt may be secured to the outer surface of the sleeve to cover the end of the waste pipe when the latter extends above the floor surface.
