Abstract
563,510. Lavatory basins, sinks, &c. TILLYER, V. A. Feb. 23, 1943, No. 2952. [Class 26] Relates to the liquid seal or trap for a lavatory basin, sink, or the like. The outlet passage 4 from the bottom of the basin &c., which may be closed by a plug 5, communicates with a straight, upwardly-directed passage 7 formed in the material of the basin and open at both ends for the reception of a sleeve 12 having a cut-away portion 14 coincident with the lower end of the outlet passage, the outlet passage and the sleeve constituting the trap. The sleeve is connected to a waste pipe 15. An inspection plug 9 may be fitted in the lower end of the sleeve, and in order to prevent accumulation of waste matter in the lower end of the sleeve, the plug may extend to the lower end of the cut-away portion. If desired, a grating may be provided across the passage 4 beneath the plug 5.
