Abstract
872,546. Transferring vehicles to and from pit cages; vehicle stops. MONNINGHOFF, S., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK MONNING- HOFF]. March 13, 1958 [July 2, 1957], No. 8115/58. Classes 78 (4) and 104 (2). In a tub-decking plant, the tubs are advanced by means of a pusher device connected to an endless drive member on which is mounted an actuating member for releasing a stop member in the path of a tub. A cam member 26 on an endless chain 17 pivots a stop 18 out of the path of a tub 21 when a motor 10 is actuated to drive the chain through a dog clutch, the chain also being connected to a carriage 19 which supports a tub pusher 20. A swinging bridge 13 is lowered against the action of a counterweight 14 by means of the motor 10 through a friction clutch 11. When the tub 21 has passed the stop 18, the stop is spring-urged back to its operative position and a second stop 18a is pivoted out of the path of the following tub 28 by means of a cam member 27 to allow the tub 28 to move as far as the stop 18. The motor 10 is then reversed to allow the bridge 13 to swing to its vertical position and to return the pusher 20 to its starting position, means being provided to allow the cam members 26, 27 to run back without deflecting the stops 18, 18a from their operative positions. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the stops 18 are replaced by pivoted hooks which, in their operative position, engage a tub buffer or axle, and which are pivoted out of the path of the tubs by means of dogs on the endless chain. A second advancing means which is also driven by means of the motor 10 may be provided for, the following tubs.
