Abstract
<PICT:0872120/IV (a)/1> <PICT:0872120/IV (a)/2> A wet-spinning assembly 10 (Fig. 1) including a spinning tube consists of a cover portion 11b and a base portion 11a provided with a support 12 (Figs. 1 and 2) adapted to rest on the bottom of a spinning trough (not shown). The portion 11a has a rear section 14a provided with semi-annular grooves 15a, 16a supporting a spinneret 20 contained within a housing 21 and positioned by flanges 17a, 18a. The upper half of the spinneret engages the semi-annular grooves 15b, 16b in the cover portion 11b so that the spinneret and its housing are completely enclosed when the portion 11b is swung down into the operative position on top of the portion 11a. The rear sections 14a, 14b of the assembly 10 are separated from the forward sections 13a, 13b by an annular cavity 22 extending radially parallel to the face of the spinneret 20. Apart from narrow bridges 23 connecting the front and rear portion of the assembly the cavity 22 is in free communication with the coagulating liquid, which can therefore flow freely into the cavity from the coagulating bath in which the assembly 10 is immersed. The rear faces of the front sections 13a, 13b are curved inwardly at 24a, 24b to promote a nonturbulent flow of coagulating liquid from the cavity 22 into the entrance of the spinning tube 25. The latter is positioned by the shoulders 26a, 26b of the semi-cylindrical openings 27a, 27b of the front sections 13a, 13b. The inlet end of the tube 25 is supported by a tubular bracket 28 attached to the portion 11a and is provided with trunnions 30 in which are pivotally mounted the eyelets 32 attached to the arms 31 of the upper member 13b. The latter is locked in the operating position by a latching lever 35 which is pivotally mounted on the member 13b by means of a pin 36 and the lower end of which engages one of the notches on the inclined surface 33 of the bracket 28. Specification 785,893 is referred to.
