Class 29 [Also in Group XXVI] A rotary compressor C withdraws ambient air and supplies it through cooler S and expansion turbine T to a chamber e.g. the passenger space A of a motor car, the air displaced from the space A flowing to atmosphere through the cooler S to remove the heat of compression and the compressor C, turbine S and additional source M of mechanical power being coaxial. A portion of the air discharged from space A may be recirculated to the intake of compressor C. The source M may be a gas turbine driven by the exhaust gases of the car engine, or a hydraulic turbine supplied with driving liquid by a pump driven by the car engine. A moisture separator may be disposed in pipe 3 between the turbine T and space A
