Abstract
870,702. Thermal switches. CORNING GLASS WORKS. Dec. 30, 1959 [Dec. 31, 1958], No. 44255/59. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XI] Actuating rod 30 is in contact with a hotplate of insulating material heated by resistance wires adjacent to it, and the expansion of the rod moves spring 60 which in turn makes adjustable screw 62 move spring 25 away from contact spring 27, thus opening the heater circuit and an indicator lamp circuit. The temperature at which cut-off occurs may be adjusted by means of spring-control knob 57.
