869,542. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Sept. 23, 1957 [Sept. 29, 1956], No. 29826/57. Class 6(3). In a swath-turner of the rake-wheel type wherein the rake-wheels are arranged in groups of two, the axes of rotation of the rakewheels of at least one group are capable of being arranged at different angles to the direction of travel. The machine is identical with that described in Specification 877,574 and comprises a frame trapezium-shaped in plan with cross-members 3, 4, 5 which are extended downwardly to carry vertical bearings 6, 7, 8 for beams ,such as 13, carrying pairs of rake-wheels which are carried on cranks. Each end of each beam has two alternative bearings 15, 16, 17, 18 for the reception of the cranks. Three alternative arrangements are shown ; in the rake-wheel group 9, the rake-wheel 33 is at a smaller inclination to the line of travel V than the rake-wheel 32, but in the group 10 the rake-wheel 35 has the greater inclination. In the group 11, the distance between the rake-wheel centres has been increased by rotating the crank 20 through 180 degrees.
