Abstract
869,232. Photo-electric control of photographic enlargers. GRAGGO, M. Dec. 5, 1957 [Dec. 15, 1956; Sept. 20, 1957], No. 37928/57. Class 40(3) [Also in Group XX] Relates to photographic enlargers with photoelectric control of printing time according to average negative density. According to the invention an accessory for such an enlarger comprises a rigid plate 23 presenting a printing surface larger than that 11 of the enlarger, the plate transmitting printing light over an area 25 at least as large as the printing surface of the enlarger, means 24 for supporting the plate horizontally above the enlarger's printing surface, and a light shaft 31, 32 extending between the plate and the latter surface. A masking frame for the accessory is described, Fig. 4 (not shown). In a further embodiment the opposite walls 32 of the light shaft can be folded into an upper position whereby they cover cut-out 25 to form a focusing surface, Fig. 5 (not shown). The cut-out 25 may be replaced by an inlaid glass plate.
