In a flexible chamber pump of the kind in which a flexible hose 25 supported on a perforated tube 26 is expanded by fluid pressure to pump liquid through a chamber 23, one end of the tube is permanently closed. The actuating fluid source may be remote from the pump e.g. a compressed air supply line or as shown a ram 29 oscillates in the tube 26 which is liquid filled. The effective stroke of the ram may be varied. The ram may be driven by a swash plate.
