In a device for controlling the delivery of a reciprocating pump 2, 19 by storing in an accumulator space 3 part of the volume swept from the pump chamber 2 on the discharge stroke which volume or part thereof is returned to the pump chamber on the suction stroke, the volume discharged to the accumulator or returned on the suction stroke is controlled by a valve 6 controlled by means e.g. bellows 7 subjected on one side to chamber pressure and on the other to spring or variable fluid-pressure loading. In the embodiment shown the valve 6 is attached to an elastic bellows 7 being one wall of a variable volume chamber 8 subject to pump pressure on one face and on the other to a control pressure provided by an air cylinder 17. A flexible diaphram 16 may separate corrosive liquid being pumped from the accumulator liquid in space 3, which' in turn is separated from the gas space 5 by a flexible diaphram 4.
