Abstract

A composition for the oxidative dyeing of human hair comprises 1 : 4-diaminobenzene or a nuclear substitution derivative thereof, such as p-toluylene-diamine, together with a m-dialkylaminophenol. In examples, the composition is applied to the hair (1) from an aqueous solution which also contains resorcinol, sodium hydroxide, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, and (2) as a cream containing also sodium cetyl alcohol sulphate, cetyl alcohol, wool wax, resorcinol, m-aminophenol and ammonia, the cream being mixed with hydrogen peroxide just before use.
