867,931. Dust bins. OCHSNER & CIE A.G., J. Oct. 13, 1959, No. 34634/69. Class 26. A dust bin has a hollow lid buffer 9 of rubber or a rubber-like elastic plastic, secured in an internally-concave rim 6 of the lid 3 by a clamping ring 10 in the buffer 9. The ring 10 may be slitted. The diameter of the crosssection of the ring 10 is preferably in the ratio of 1 : 3 to the outer diameter of that of the buffer 9. The bin 6 may have a bottom buffer 14 of the said material, with a cross-section made up mainly of a circle 15 and substantially a trapezium 16 joined thereto (as shown in Fig. 3), gripped between suitably corrugated metal rings 18, 19, the bottom part projecting freely downward. The ring 18 is higher than the ring 19 and has on top a widened-out portion 20 gripping around the bottom of the bin casing 12, the ring 19 having a portion 25 concavely-rounded off to support a convexlyrounded-off portion 22 along the rim 24 of the bin bottom. The casing 12, bottom 23 and the rings 18 and 19 may be welded together. The lid 3 is made of portions 6, 7, 8, shaped as shown in Fig. 2. The casing edge 11 is flanged over the end of a shank of an angle iron 13 bent to form a ring. Specification 819,926 is referred to.
