Abstract

867,221. Endless belt conveyer framework. HOLLINS, E. Dec. 3, 1957 [Dec. 4, 1956], No. 36972/56. Class 78 (1). Each unit of a sectional framework for an endless belt conveyer consists of a channelsection part 4 having shoulders 5 for supporting a partition plate 6, the plate 6 carrying the upper run of the belt and the floor 4b of the part 4 carrying the return run. The shoulders 5 consist of inverted L-section members having their webs welded to the sides 4a and floor 4b of the part 4. Slots 7 are formed in the shoulders to receive pins 8 carried by cross-bars 9 secured to the underside of plate 6, to lock the parts together. The sides 4a are stepped outwards at one end 10 to receive the opposite end of an adjacent section. Slots 12 in the stepped portion are engaged by pins 11 on the opposite end of an adjacent unit to connect the units together. The plate 6 is also stepped downwards at one end 13 to receive the opposite end of an adjacent plate 6. The plates 6 may be staggered with respect to adjacent parts 4 by engaging the pins 8 on each plate 6 with slots 7 of two adjacent parts 4.
