Abstract

Apparatus for dye fixing textile fabric comprises a dye padder 27, a series of rotating rollers 21 which may be heated to different temperatures through steam inlets 26, and two fluid-tight bands 24, 24a passing directly around the rollers 21 and sandwiching the travelling <PICT:0865659/IV(c)/1> fabric 25 therebetween. Band washing and or drying means 19, 19a may also be provided, and by allowing one band to follow the dotted path shown the last cylinder 21 may be used partially to dry the fabric. In the embodiment of Fig. 1 (not shown) three heated rollers are arranged in a horizontal line and the fabric is passed first over the top portions of the rollers and then back under the bottom portions of the rollers to the place of entry of the fabric. In this embodiment steam may be injected into the spaces defined by adjacent rollers and the double banding.
