Abstract
863,365. Door operating-appliances. DICKMANN, G. March 27, 1957 [March 27, 1956; Sept. 6, 1956; March 15, 1957], No. 10022/57. Class 65(1). A lift cage 1 carries swingable arms 15, 18 which are moved in opposite directions to respectively engage and open the hinged doors 16 of the cage and the hinged floor doors 19, Fig. 2. A double crank-arm 5 driven by a motor 2 is coupled by rods 6, 7 to crank-arms which rotate the bevel wheels 10. The arms 15 are each attached to a tube 13 provided with a bevel wheel 11, and a shaft carrying one arm 18 passes through each tube and terminates in a bevel wheel 12. Rotation of the wheel 10 causes the meshing bevel wheels and the arms to rotate in opposite directions to open the lift and floor doors. The doors are closed by springs. The arm 18 is pivotably attached to its shaft so that it may be swung up into an inoperative position if required. In a modification, shown in plan in Fig. 5, a single hinged floor door is operated by a swinging arm 118 and the sliding doors 135 of the cage are simultaneously slid back. The arm 118 is mounted on a shaft 115 rotated as before by links from a motor driven crank. The motor also drives, through a slipping clutch, the crank levers 130 which are connected, by links 131, to the doors and open them against the action of springs. The initial movement of the levers 130 trips mechanism to release the lock 153 of the floor door.
