Abstract
862,093. Shuttleless looms. MACHINEFABRIEK L. TE STRAKE N.V. Feb. 4, 1958 [Feb. 8, 1957], No. 3670/58. Class 142(2) In a shuttleless loom, air is supplied to a tube 1 via a supply pipe 10 and the weft 6 enters the tube through a transverse aperture 5. The tube 1 and a suction device 9 at the other side of the warp are moved towards each other by linkages 12-15. When air is blown out of a nozzle 2 in the tube 1, the weft end is drawn into the tube 1 and blown out of an aperture 4. The final gap between members arid 9 is about one third of the warp width. One pick length is drawn from a cap 20 by closing a clamp 18 and lowering a comb 16 to engage a comb 17. Prior to picking the clamp 18 is released and a clamp 19 is closed. The weft is severed adjacent the nozzle 1 and the ends at each side of the warp are turned-in to provide a selvedge.
