Abstract

1,021,489. Shuttleless looms. ADOLPH SAURER Ltd. July 13,1964 [Sept. 12,1963], No. 28817/64. Heading D1E. A suction device for holding weft ends 19 in a shuttleless loom comprises two suction tubes 6, 7 connected through a valve 9 to a source of vacuum in such a way that during beat up suction is applied only to the tube 6 and when the sley recedes suction is applied only to the tube 7 to hold the weft end during cutting. After cutting at the temple 4 the weft end is removed through the valve 9 to a collector. In a modification (not shown) injection type nozzles may replace the suction tubes shown in order that the weft ends may be removed without passing through the valve.
