Abstract
861,510. Blowpipe burners. BRITISH OXYGEN CO. Ltd. Sept. 30, 1959 [Oct. 8, 1958], No. 32087/58. Class 75 (1). A torch body 10 has a nozzle receiving socket 14 which is contoured to receive identical head portions of at least one cutting nozzle 19 and at least one welding nozzle 32, and which has three separate inlet passages 15, 16, 17, two being for oxygen and one for fuel. In the cutting nozzle, a cutting oxygen passage 25 registers with one inlet passage 15 which is for oxygen, while the other two inlet passages, 16, 17, which are for oxygen and fuel gas respectively, register with appropriate passage openings 27, 29 in the cutting nozzle. In the welding nozzle, an oxygen passage 34 registers with the inlet passage 17, while the second oxygen passage 16 is blocked by the welding nozzle to prevent the flow of oxygen.
