782,881. Blowpipe burners. UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION, [formerly UNION CARBIDE & CARBON CORPORATION]. Dec. 28, 1955 [Feb. 10, 1955], No. 37163/55. Class 75(1) In a post mixed desurfacing nozzle having at least one longitudinal fuel gas passage 11, 12 on each of the two longer sides of a longitudinal transversely elongated oxygen passage 10, a cap 14 on the nozzle forming fuel gas slots 17 directing fuel gas into the oxygen stream from opposite sides thereof, a step 16 formed in the inner surfaces of each of the two longer sides of the discharge end of the oxygen passage in the rear of the fuel gas slots and of a discharge orifice 18 in the cap, the transverse depth of the step is .38 mm. the longitudinal depth of the step is at least 4.76 mm. and the longitudinal depth b of the orifice 18 in the cap is at least 3.17 mm. The fuel gas slots 17 are preferably 1.59 mm. by 15.6 mm. Specification 597,987 is referred to.
