A pressure-gauge for use in inflating tyres comprises a floating hollow plunger 4 vertically movable in a cylindrical envelope 1 containing a liquid L, and a pressure-reducer 6 interposed between the plunger 4 and the pneumatic pressure conduit 7, the pressure in the conduit 7 being indicated by the vertical displacement of the plunger or by the liquid level. Air, the pressure of which is being measured, is led by a conduit 8 to the space 7 above a piston 6. The piston 6 is connected to the plunger 4 floating in the liquid L, and has a smaller cross-sectional area than the plunger, thus acting as a pressure-reducer. Movements of the plunger 4 are indicated by the level of the liquid L on a scale mounted on the outer casing 1 and illuminated by lamps 9. In another embodiment, the piston and cylinder pressure reducer is mounted below the plunger 4, and is connected to it by rods extending outside the liquid-filled casing and joined to the plunger above the upper edge of the casing. In a second embodiment, the graduations may be provided on the plunger, the casing carrying a single index mark.
