Abstract

The gauge enables the quantity of liquified compressed gas (1) contained in a bottle to be determined. Its operating principle relies on a fundamental relationship in the statics of fluids, viz: the action of the weight of the bottle containing the liquified gas on a flexible pocket (4) containing a gluid. The bottle (1) is able to move inside a second container (2) which has a flexible pocket (4) filled with fluid in its base. The flexible pocket (4) is connected to a vertical, transparent tube (5) whose height is a little greater than that of the fluid column. The fluid may be coloured. A graduated scale (6) is placed next to the vertical tube (5). This scale (6) may be moved so that its next highest graduation is level with the fluid level.
