Class 20(2) A mine arch comprises a number of other than chanhel section parts connected together by segments 3, 3a of channel section clamped together by a clamp 4. The arch shown has an upper I-section segment 2 connected to two .I-section side' segments 5, 5a by this means. The parts 2, 5, 5a are connected to the parts 3, 3a by welding or screws and the bases of the channels may be cut away at 9 to receive the flanges 10 of the segments 2, 5, 5a and a plate 8 may be welded over the joint.
