Class 7(6) [Also in Group XXVIII] A fuel injection pump comprises a single plunger pump assembly 10 of known kind, driven by a spindle 2 and a rotary fuel distributer comprising a rotating part 28, connected to the spindle, and in casing 24 provided with the fuel outlet passages 37. The distributer is arranged at right angles to the pump and is connected to it by a releasable pipe 15. The distributer and pump are mounted on a framing 9 so that either assembly may be readily removed for servicing or replacement. The rotating part 28 is provided with an axial bore 41 communicating with grooves 39, 40 on either side of the distributing groove 36 to allow escape of liquid leaking along the rotating part, to the fuel supply tank by a passage 42. A packing ring 44 prevents leakage to the fuel spindle casing.
