859,941. Moulding hollow articles. P. P. P. (CLITHEROE) Ltd. April 29, 1957 [Jan. 27, 1956], No. 2669/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII] A removal shall for transporting corpses is made by applying a coat of a mix containing a. thixotropic paste and a synthetic resinforming material, e.g. one forming a polyester resin, to the inner surface of a mould which has been varnished, polished and provided with a parting agent. A further coat of the mix but containing a pigment is applied over the first coat and a lay-up mix containing a thixotropic paste and a. synthetic resin-forming material is applied over both coats, and pieces of chopped strand glass fibre are pressed into position all over the mould and secured by wire staples. Air is then exhausted from a rubber sheet sealed around the mould so that the applied pressure bonds the laid-up material together. Inserts for handles and steel washers for bolting points may be provided. A lid 4 may be made by a similar' process. The shell shown has a base 1 with raised parts 6, 7, side wall 2 and end walls 3, and the lid has a raised panel 8 and a flange 5 with beading 10.
