Abstract

899,435. Crates for bottles. TURNER, E. C. July 5, 1960 [Sept. 25, 1959], No. 32629/59. Addition to 758,517. Class 18. The bottle crate of the parent Specification is made of an integral plastic moulding with the spacer elements of hollow tubular form opening to the exterior underneath the crate for the admission of inner mould members. If made by injection moulding a high melting point polythene (especially an isotatic polythene) is used; if made by vacuum moulding the material may be a nitrile rubber-resin blend. In the latter method the spacers may have hollow aluminium inserts fitted either after moulding or to the pins on the mould before moulding. The inserts may be perforated. The moulded material may be reinforced by fibre glass or by fibre glass and paper pulp. The base of the crate may have downwardly projecting ribs carrying metal strips.
