Abstract

929,752. Moulding hollow articles from clay slip and synthetic resins. PORZELLANWERK REICHENBACH VEB. Nov. 24, 1959, No. 39924/59. Class 87(2). Liquid moulding material, e.g. clay slip or synthetic resin, is poured at 40 into a pair of moulds on a carrier 7. Excess material is removed from the moulds by a cam track, (see Fig. 6, not shown), which engages a lever 48, Fig. 3, causing the moulds to tip about a pivot 9 to a first inclined position and then through 180 degrees. The moulds are simultaneously raised as they are tipped. The moulds are returned to their normal position by a roller 49<SP>1</SP> which engages the cam track 53a. Material remaining in the opening 16 of the mould is cut off by a rotary knife 55, Fig. 9, which is moved down by a member 54<SP>1</SP> and returned by a spring 70. The mould carriers are moved step by step along longitudinal rails 1 and transverse rails 4. During filling of the moulds, blades, (see Fig. 8, not shown), enter the moulds to continually stir the material. The arms 14 carrying the moulds are fixed to the moulds by members, each having a resilient buffer 20, which members engage in grooves 18 in the moulds. The moulds are in four parts, top and bottom parts 15, 12 and two body parts 13. The top part is carried by pivoted arms 17.
