Abstract

1,263,674. Injection-blow moulding. D. VOM HOFE, and R. VOM HOFE. 2 July, 1970 [2 July, 1969], No. 32162/70. Heading B5A. An injection-blow moulding machine has two blow-moulding chambers 10, 11, on either side of the injection mould 3 and at 90 degrees thereto, a carrier head 5 pivoting about vertical axis 6 and carrying mandrels 7, 8, one mandrel being at the injection station and the other at a blowing station in both end positions of head 5, and a stripper plate 9 associated with each mandrel to move along it whenever the mandrel is moved from the blow-moulding station. A parison 13 is injection-moulded on mandrel 7 while an article 14 is produced by blow-moulding a previously injected parison on mandrel 8. The machine opens along the axis of injection mould 3 and head 5 slides away from injection mould plate 1 and pivots, stripper plate 9 on mandrel 8 being actuated to remove article 14 and to present the empty mandrel 8 at the injection mould and parison 13 on mandrel 7 being presented at blow-mould 11
