Abstract

859,415. Screw conveyers. EWART CHAINBELT CO. Ltd. April 3, 1959 [Jan. 3, 1958], No. 363/58. Class 78 (1). The parts comprising the screw are coupled adjacent the bearings 4 for the shaft 5 by split sleeves 6 which embrace the reduced ends of the shaft and are secured thereto by bolts 11. The gap between adjacent parts of the helix 1 is bridged by a short length of helix 12, one end of which is held in place around the sleeve 6 by a lug 13 which embraces the sleeve and is secured thereto by a bolt 11 and the other end of which is coupled to the helix 1 by a butt strap 15. The lug 13 is welded to the helix. Specification 859,416 is referred to.
