Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula : <FORM:0858784/IV(b)/1> (wherein R is a hydrogen atom or methyl radical; Rh is rhamnase or methylrhamnase; and Gl is glucose or methylglucose); and the preparation thereof by methylating hesperidin under such conditions that the formation of methylated hesperidine chalcone is substantially inhibited, and removing the chalcone admixed with the reaction product. U.S.A. Specifications 2,425,291 and 2,615,015 are referred to.
