Abstract

858,382. Gas-producers. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. Jan. 28, 1958 [Feb. 16, 1957], No. 2784/58. Class 55 (1). Liquid hydrocarbons are evaporated, mixed with both an exothermic and an endothermic gasifying agent and passed into the coke bed of a run-off gas producer. Oxygen or oxygen enriched air is used as the exothermic gasifying agent and steam or carbon dioxide as the endothermic one. All or part of the endothermic gasifying agent may be added to the liquid hydrocarbon to facilitate its evaporation and the heat of the gas produced may be used to assist evaporation. Coke dust separated from the product gas may be fed back to the gas producer and gaseous hydrocarbons may also be supplied together with, or separately from, the vaporized hydrocarbons.
