Abstract

858,101. Locking rods. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. May 1, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 14613/58. Class 80 (3). A rotatable or axially movable spindle 10 of, for example, a variable condenser, potentiometer or other radio component, is frictionally locked in any adjusted position by a resilient sheet metal disc 3 with tongues 4 projecting along and engaging the spindle 10. The disc 3 is held in a mounting sleeve 1 screwed on to a fixed bearing member 12 for the spindle so as to engage a panel 14. The frictional grip may be adjusted by a flanged nut engaging any external thread of the sleeve 1 and pressing on to the outer surfaces of the tongues 4.
