857,714. Forced-flow steam boilers; regulating steam temperature. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A. G. Jan. 13, 1958 [Jan. 11, 1957], No. 1246/58. Classes 123(2) and 123(3) A forced-flow, once-through boiler with two stage reheating is divided into three part-boilers I, II, III disposed side-by-side and each having its own furnace. 12 from which combustion gases flow into respective up-passes lined with water tubes. In their upper parts the outer passes respectively locate the first and second stage reheaters 22. 23 whilst the final superheater 21 is disposed in the middle pass. Feed water is supplied to the whole boiler in dependence on load and divided between the part-boilers by valves 9 in acordance with their individual firing rates. The water flows through a system of serpentine tubes lining the lower parts of each pass, water injection devices 16 being used to give the same steam temperature at each system outlet. The steam from the three systems mixes in tubes 20 and flows to the superheater 21. The temperatures of superheat and reheat are maintained constant by differentially firing the furnaces 12 and by water injection at the points 24, 27 respectively.
