Abstract

A gasoline composition contains 0.001 to 0.09% by volume of a mono- or polyether of formula: <FORM:0857068/III/1> where R is an alkyl radical containing 5 to 12 carbon atoms, R1 is an alkylene radical containing 2 or 3 carbon atoms, and x is from 1 to 7. In examples gasoline contains compounds of the above formula obtained by reacting diisobutylphenol with ethylene oxide, x being 1, 5 and 7.
