[Also in Group XXXI] An adjustable end fitting for the sheath of a Bowden cable comprises a sleeve 17, Fig. 3, having a bore 17a in which the sheath abuts, the adjustable sleeve 17 being in screw-thread engagement with a tube 15 which is inserted as far as a stop into a smooth bore in a support and is held against rotation by at least one projection 15a engaging a corresponding recess in the support. A lock-nut 16 is provided. As shown, the end fitting is mounted in the housing 12, Fig. 1, of a handle-bar twistgrip 13 actuating a Bowden cable 14 through a curved slot connection (not shown) with a slide to which the cable is attached. A collar 12c on the housing 12 has a blind bore receiving the tube 15, and an adjacent slot 12d (provided for the cable 14) co-operates with the projection 15a (Fig. 3) to prevent rotation of the tube 15. The housing 12 also carries a lever 20 actuating a second Bowden cable 22 whose sheath reacts - against a fixed arm 12g with or without the interposition of a second adjustable end fitting similar to that for the cable 14.
