Abstract
891,759. Handlebar twist-grips. MUNZ, E. Jan. 5, 1961 [Jan. 28, 1960], No. 481/61. Class 136(1). A rotatable handle 13 for handlebar control of vehicles has one end secured in a casing 15 which is provided with an axial slot 15# and a peripheral slot 15c whereby it is tightened on to the handlebar 11 by a radial projection 12a on the sleeve 12 of the handle 13 which projects into the peripheral slot 15. The sleeve is assembled by inserting the projection 12a into the slot 15c through an aperture 15b lengthwise of the casing. The projection 12a is retained in the slot 15 by a stirrup spring 18 which has a toe 18a projecting into the slot. The handle operates a Bowden cable 21 by means of a block 20 which is slidable in a recess 15d lengthwise of the casing and has a lug which co-operates with a cam groove 12b in the sleeve 12. The cable 21 passes through a retaining member 24 which is held in the casing 15 by a locking screw 25.
