Abstract

1441964 Waste fittings ARMITAGE SHANKS GROUP Ltd 26 April 1974 [28 April 1973] 20332/73 Heading A4N A "pop-up" waste for an ablutionary appliance comprises an operating member 34 for angular movement, a crank 24 turned by this movement and a waste plug 22 displaced axially by the crank, the crank 24 and the member 34 being coupled by a flexible cable 36a which transmits angular movement. Each end of cable 36a is fitted with a sleeve 38 securing them respectively to the operating member and to the crank, by grub screws 40. In one embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown) the operating member 34 has a portion of reduced thickness extending through a bush (42) small enough to pass into the chain-stay hole of the appliance. The bush (42) may be U-shaped in cross-section so that it may be inserted after the fitting of an operating knob (46) to member 34, by screwing and/or brazing.
