In a speed-stabilizing system for a D.C. motor, a self-saturating magnetic amplifier supplies rectified current to the armature which is shunted by a capacitor to form an oscillatory circuit with the armature inductance and resistance. When the speed of the motor decreases, voltage derived from the oscillatory circuit provides a feed-back effect on the output winding of the magnetic amplifier whereby the output current is increased to counteract the drop in speed.
