Abstract

856,467. Centrifugal strainer separators. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. May 24, 1957 [Sept. 21, 1956], No. 16548/57. Class 46. A hollow shaft comprising a collar 14, a part 10, a lantern-shaped part 11 and a cap 16 is rotated, and with it a frusto-conical sieve drum 1 connected to the shaft by springs 24, 25, by a motor 59 at 450 r.p.m. A conical jacket 20 is fixed to the cap 16 by ribs 19. In addition the sieve drum 1 is vertically vibrated between the springs 24, 25 by an eccentric 29 and connecting rod 26, located within a stationary hollow centre-shaft 9, at 35 cycles per second, the amplitude being 3 mm. Granular wet coal is fed in at 68, liquid is drained from a stationary container 46 at 50, and coal after rising up the sieve drum 1 discharges over a flange 6 and between the container 46 and an outer wall 52 to a bunker (not shown).
