856,086. Load-handling machines on vehicles. FABRIKS AKTIEBOLAGET FORSLUND & CO. May 19, 1959 [May 20, 1958], No. 17000/59. Class 78 (4). An extension 6 to the jib 4 of a pillar crane can be tilted above and below the longitudinal axis of the jib by an hydraulic cylinder 7. The cylinder 7 is connected to the extension 6 either through a bracket rigid with the extension or, as shown, by linkwork 13, 10, which is pivotally attached to the jib and the extension. Preferably the extension 6 pivots about two coaxial trunnions 11 which allow the ram 8 to pass between them. The jib 4 may be luffed about an axis 3 on a slewing arm 2 by an hydraulic cylinder within the pillar.
