Abstract

855,198. Photographic screened printing reliefs. MUTH, W. May 9, 1957 [May 11, 1956], No. 14744/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2). A negative image is copied through a screen on to a gelatino-silver halide film and this is developed, fixed, and treated in a bath consisting of acetic acid, sodium sulphate, ferric sulphate, sulphuric acid, water and hydrogen peroxide; and subsequently dried without intermediate hardening of the gelatin. The reliefs so produced are immediately useable for printing. An Example refers to the copying as through a print screen, specifies 10 minutes immersion for the bath treatment and quotes proportions of the ingredients therein. The hydrogen peroxide may suitably be added in the form of an adduct with urea. Various known processes of forming printing reliefs from gelatino-silver halide materials also are described.
