Abstract

854,906. Aircraft flight aid systems. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. Jan. 1, 1957 [Jan. 3, 1956], No. 19739/60. Divided out of 854,904. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (1). The description is the same as that of Specification 854,904, but the claims are for a system comprising means for deriving an error signal representing the difference between actual and desired craft altitude, and means for algebraically combining this error signal with a further signal representing either vertical acceleration or the displacement of the collective pitch control means. The system is particularly suitable for enabling the pilot of a helicopter to approach and maintain a desired altitude. Specifications 854,905 and 854,907 also are referred to.
