Abstract

853,660. Removing dust generated in industrial processes. ELLIOTT & CO. Ltd., B., and FRYE, J. March 8, 1957 [Dec. 9, 1955], No. 35408/55. Class 8(2). Dust generated by a grinding wheel (not shown) is drawn into a hood at the inlet end of a duct 15, Fig. 2 having swivel joints 21, 22 and discharging downwardly into a rearwardly projecting compartment 3 of an air filter cabinet mounted on castors 26 and having an upper compartment 1 for storing tools, a second lower dust depositing compartment 5 separated from compartment 3 by a vertical filter screen 4, Fig. 5 and intermediate the compartments 1 and 3 having a compartment 7 in which are located a plurality of inward flow inverted filter bags 9. Clean air leaving the bags is drawn through an aperture 12 in the inner wall of a fan compartment 10 of the cabinet and is exhausted through slots 13. The tool storage compartment has a drawer 2 and the compartment 5 has a drawer 19 into which dust falls from the bags 9 when they are shaken by manual rocking of a shaft 17 from which the bags arranged in two rows are suspended by two cranks 16 fast on the shaft 17 and each having a horizontal bar 20 linked to the bags.
