Abstract

853,357. Valves. SMIT, J. Jan. 2, 1958 [Jan. 2, 1957], No. 215/58. Addition to 800,675. Class 135. A valve consisting as in the parent Specification of a gate member 15 integral with an edgeclamped diaphragm 17 and coacting with an arcuate seating 14 between aligned inlet and outlet ports has lateral wings 29 projecting at right angles to the actuating stud for supporting the diaphragm. As shown, the wings, which are held against rotation by engagement with grooves 30, are attached to a rigid disc 32 to which is attached a rigid, arcuate foot (not shown) embedded in the gate member by which the latter is operated.
