A magnesium alloy particularly for use as canning material for fuel elements of nuclear reactors has a composition in the following range in per cent by weight: Zr 0.3-1.0. Mn 0.05-0.5. Zn 0-2.0. Mg the remainder. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 806,104.
