850,814. Cathode materials and processing. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Aug. 30, 1957 [Dec. 20, 1956], No. 27367/57. Class 39(1). A cathode comprises a coating of an emissive oxide on a metal carrier, the latter containing magnesium silicide as an activator. The carrier may be nickel, and the magnesium silicide may be added during a melting stage, or mixed in powder form with powdered nickel and subsequently sintered.
