Abstract
568,962. Electrode materials. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Oct. 6, 1943, No. 16362. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1942. [Class 39 (i)] A cathode is made by coating a metal base with a thin layer of metallic tungsten particles, heating these to sintering temperature and then adding a coating of thorium oxide particles and heating in vacuum to cause the latter to adhere to the tungsten particles. A layer of molybdenum particles' may be sintered on to the tungsten layer before the thorium oxide is added. The metal base may be tantalum or molybdenum.
