Abstract

850,701. Hydraulic dampers. RIV OFFICINE DI VILLAR PEROSA S.p.A. Aug. 12, 1958 [Feb. 20, 1958], No. 25895/58. Class 108(3). In a conventional doubleacting telescopic hydraulic shock absorber having a concentric reservoir, a chamber 4, is formed between a plug 5, and an end portion 3. The plug 5 is permeable, and is made either of a porous material or formed with capillary holes 5a. The plug 5 does not effect the damping action of the shock absorber. The chamber 4, is connected with the reservoir 8 of the shock absorber through a small tube 7, the lower end of which dips into the oil in the reservoir. The tube 7 may be made of synthetic plastic material. More than one tube may be employed. This arrangement prevents the formation of air bubbles within the shock absorber.
