Abstract
849,579. Charging shaft furnaces. FORINDUS S.r.L. Nov. 21, 1958 [Dec. 18, 1957], No. 37581/58. Class 51 (2). Apparatus for distributing small material around the periphery and large material at the centre of a lime kiln comprises a known double hopper and double bell with an additional hopper F fixed below having a bell C. With the bell C in its upper position small material supplied separately to the hoppers by an endless belt K is fed to the periphery of the kiln and with the bell C in its lower position, large material collects in the hopper F for subsequent discharge towards the centre of the kiln. Arcuate gas offtakes G extend from the centre of the kiln to an annular header R connected to a suction fan V.
