Abstract

848,310. Metal vapour convectors. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A. B. Feb. 27, 1959 [March 3, 1958], No. 6838/59. Class 39(1). A mercury pool rectifier consists of a horizontal metal envelope 1, Fig. 1, with liquid cathode 2 and four anodes units 3-6 disposed along the uppermost generator of the envelope. The anode units have a common condensation chamber in which may be disposed plates so that the condensed vapour runs directly back to the wells 2 in the envelope. Separate air cooling systems for the anode units and the shell are provided by means of fan 8. The device may have only two, or as many as 8 anode units which in the latter case are preferably disposed along two generators of the cylinder on the upper half of the shell.
