847,857. Stencilling-apparatus. H. & S. ADVERTISING Ltd. Oct. 16, 1958 [Jan. 23, 1958], No. 2347/58. Class 100(2) A squeegee-supporting arm for a silk-screen printing apparatus has bearing means whereby it may be moved along a rod extending transversely to the length of the arm, or pivoted around the rod, the bearing means comprising three or more bearing members, for example, rollers, arranged to run along the rod when the arm is moved along it, and means for mounting the bearing members on the arm, said means only partly surrounding the rod but extending more than half way round it. The squeegeesupporting arm 16, Figs. 1 and 2, has bolted thereto a triangular plate 17 and a rectangular plate 18, through which pass bolts 19, 20, 21, 22. Distance pieces such as 23, 24 separate the plates, and the bolts also carry sleeve members 25, 26. Each pair of bolts supports rollers 29, 30 and an axle 28 carrying a roller 27, the rollers engaging and running along or pivoting about a rod 14 secured at a plurality of points along the rear edge of a silkscreen frame 11, by brackets 31. The rollers can be replaced by steel balls rotatably mounted in cups resiliently secured to the arm. In another form, each bolt may carry two rollers at ninety degrees to each other, so that each set of rollers comprises four at ninety degrees. The arm 16 is counter-balanced by a weight 32. The screen frame 11 is also pivoted to the rod 14.
